Covert Ops DJs publishes when there is something to publish. There is no schedule and no filler, and every piece stays in the archive even after we have changed our minds about it.
This site grew out of a spreadsheet. Reo Castellan had been tracking mobile DJ and event services for years, mostly to stop repeating the same mistakes, and it turned out other people wanted the same answers.
There are questions we routinely decline. Anything that depends on facts only you can see, and anything where being wrong would cost you real money on our say so.
People ask about the name. There is rarely a good story behind a domain, and there is not one here either. Covert Ops DJs was available, it was short enough to say out loud, and it has been the name long enough now that changing it would be more confusing than keeping it.
Each article answers one question about mobile DJ and event services and then stops. Padding a page to look thorough is the easiest way to waste a reader's afternoon.
We keep the commercial side visible. Some outbound links earn us money, and that never buys a change to the text around them.

Articles are filed under one topic each, so an archive page reads as a list rather than a pile. Most of the traffic here lands on dj equipment, mixing and technique and weddings and private events.
You can see who wrote what, and you can see everything else they wrote. That is deliberate, because it makes a bad article expensive for the person who wrote it.
Reo Castellan, Working club and wedding DJ. Reo plays more than a hundred events a year and hauls his own gear to every one of them. He reviews equipment the way he would warn a friend before a gig, not the way a press kit describes it.
